2nd Day of the 15th International Shiatsu Conference
Following the Shiatsu Seminar 1 with Kanda sensei, a Shiatsu Seminar 2 on "Shiatsu for pathological condition" with Dr. Hiroshi Ishizuka, principal of the Japan Shiatsu College was held. Over 100 practitioners other massage therapists from all over the world and more than 150 local people from Canada. 
Dr. Ishizuka who is an expert in Anatomy reported his research on advantage of Shiatsu based on a medical rationale. 
He established the efficacy of Shiatsu of various symptoms such as the painless delivery of the alleviation constipation, urinary stone, and also relieving atopic dermatitis. Examples of actual medical conditions and graphs were shown. All participants recognized the value of Shiatsu Therapy once again.

Dr.Hiroshi Ishizuka, Ph.D., born in Tokyo in 1933. After graduating from the Department of Science at the University of Chiba, he worked as an instructor of anatomy at Nippon Dental University. He later became a professor at Toho University School of Medicine and the University of Tokushima School of Dentistry, eventually becoming professor emeritus.
He has been contributing to the popularization of Shiatsu around the world since joining the Japan Shiatsu College, where he became vice-principal in 1999 and principal in 2003.
In addition to his duties at the Japan Shiatsu College, he is a researcher for the Japanese Ministry of the Environment, where he has worked on such notable projects as the Green Census, a national survey on the natural environment and integrated biodiversity. 
He is the author of several books on anatomy and tsubo.
