The 15th International Shiatsu Conference Opening Ceremony Aug. 10, 2008

On Sunday Aug. 10 at 9:00 O'clock in the morning, over 250 people gathered to participate in the 15th International Shiatsu Conference at the University of British Columbia.
In celebration of the 80th Anniversary of Diplomatic Relations between Japan and Canada, the conference was opened by singing of "Kimigayo" by Kiyoshi Ikenaga, Chairperson of the 15th International Shiatsu Conference Implementation Committee, singing of "Oh Canada" by our student Cassandra Amaral and opening remarks by Judy Thompson, President of Canadian Shiatsu Society of British Columbia.
At the opening ceremony, we received congratulatory addresses from Consul-General of Japan in Vancouver Seiichi Otsuka, Harry Bloy, MLA, Dr. Asae Tanaka, Chairperson of the Nikka Health Care Society and Kazutami Namikoshi, Chairperson emeritus of the 15th International Shiatsu Conference Implementation Committee.
In addition to this we also received a complimentary message from Mr. Jose Macdonel, a representative of our clients.
After an introduction of our guests and telegrams of congratulation, the ceremony was concluded.
