The 9th International Shiatsu Conference in Italy 1991
The 9th International Shiatsu Conference was held at the Jolly Hotel in Rome, Italy. It had over 350 participants from 12 countries, including: Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, England, Greece, Cyprus, Egypt, The U.S., Canada and as well as Malaysia. Thus, giving the name, " International Conference" was worth it. At 10:00 a.m., the hall was absolutely packed with many people standing on both sides and at the back of the hall. After the president of Shiatsu Association in Italy, Mr. Guilio Santarelli, delivered a declaration of the conference and a welcome message, Garbal sensei, the chairperson of the Centro de Shiatsu in Spain, Gerhard Birkner, the director of the Shiatsu center in West Germany and Kensen Saito sensei in Canada, had made their speech. Subsequently, Rudy Palombini sensei, the chairperson of the Shiatsu Association in Italy, gave an enthusiastic discourse for an hour on :legislating of Shiatsu in Italy:, which was the most important purpose of the conference. This had made a profound impression on the Italian members. A news conference was held. TV and newspapers covered the conference, so that the recognition on Shiatsu would be deeply understood, not only for the people in Rome, but also all over Europe, and as well as bringing substantial results for a popularization of Shiatsu. At night, the reception party had a joyful atmosphere, and it was more fruitful than ever before. After that, the conference came to a close. |
